What to Do in Makati With Kids: 8 Kid-Friendly Places in Makati City
Published September 26, 2026. 5 min read
Makati looks like office towers and lunch meetings, so it rarely makes the weekend shortlist for families. But the CBD has three free parks with playgrounds, a 1,500-square-meter indoor play center at One Ayala, a play cafe in Salcedo, and malls where rain never ruins the plan. Most of these spots sit within walking distance of each other.
Where can I take my kids in Makati?
The short answer: the best places to take kids in Makati are the free playgrounds at Ayala Triangle Gardens, Salcedo Park, and Legazpi Active Park, plus indoor play at FantasyWorld One Ayala.
For other indoor options, The Village Play Cafe lets parents have coffee while kids play, Arcadia Softplay is the budget toddler pick, and METTACITY goes digital with VR and 9D rides. For a calmer afternoon, Ayala Museum rounds out the list. Details and parent tips for each below.
Free parks with playgrounds
Ayala Triangle Gardens
A green park in the middle of the Makati CBD with a playground for kids aged 2 to 12. Equipment includes slides, a jungle gym, a tunnel, and an obstacle course. Adult supervision is required.
We've brought our daughter Likha here twice. The first time, she was around two, and it was her first outdoor playground with soft rubber flooring. She could only really do the tunnel. The slides were too high for her, and the flat metal steps leading up to them were too much for her little legs. The spinning equipment was out too. So we carried her up and set her down halfway on the slide so she could still try it. Most of the visit, she just ran around and tried to chase another kid. She was happy anyway.
- Location: Paseo de Roxas corner Makati Avenue and Ayala Avenue
- Budget: Free
- Best age: 2 to 12. Kids under 3 will mostly run around and use the tunnel.
- Parent tip: If you have a toddler, be ready to lift and spot them on the slides. It's open-air, so mornings and late afternoons are more comfortable.
Jaime C. Velasquez Park (Salcedo Park)
A village park with a children's playground, a large grassy lawn, a pet park, and public restrooms. Every Saturday morning, it hosts the Salcedo Village Market.
- Location: Tordesillas Street, Salcedo Village
- Budget: Free
- Best age: All ages
- Parent tip: Go on a Saturday morning, let the kids play first, then grab breakfast at the market. It gets crowded by late morning.
Legazpi Active Park
A park with a children's playground, jogging paths, and washrooms, about a 5-minute walk from Greenbelt. It hosts the Legazpi Sunday Market.
- Location: Rada Street, Legazpi Village
- Budget: Free
- Best age: All ages
- Parent tip: The Sunday version of the Salcedo plan. Playground first, market food after. Washington SyCip Park sits right beside it if you want a shadier walk.
